I’ve had this song on repeat lately because I can’t get enough of it. To me, this song is about that moment when you become utterly and completely aware of yourself, and the subsequent discomfort that that hyper-awareness can cause you. I think it’s so relatable for us lymphies, because we’re often slaves to our condition and feel overwhelmed by the permanence of it. We feel like other people will “eat us alive” because we are so different and separate from them.

Despite the panic expressed through most of the song, I find a lot of comfort in this verse:

If you’re still alive, my regrets are few
If my life is mine, what shouldn’t I do?
I get wherever I’m going, I get whatever I need
While my blood’s still flowing and my heart still beats…

It’s like she’s accepting that she’s alive and that her life is hers to live, so she’s taking control now. As long as her blood’s still flowing and her heart’s still beating, she’s going to do what she has to do to live her life her way. I love that. So, lymphies – even though our lymph isn’t exactly flowing, the rest of us is! There’s no stopping us except our own self-imposed limitations.
